Defining our space

This week we were given the topic 'Defining our space' as the 2 week project for the print elective. I chose to look at our personal space, and how we react to it being interfered with.

Swoon

Swoon uses buildings and construction sites as her canvas and her inspiration. Swoon prints onto sheets of newsprint and sticks them to walls with wheat paste. This technique reminds me somewhat of the CHINE COLLE technique.

Swoons work is very experimantal - This can be seen in works like 'Swimming cities of switch back sea' (2008)

For these works swoon and others sailed vessels made of trash down the hudson river. It is neithe the technique now the concept behind this that interests me, It is the EXPERIMENTATION!!!
